Kiara & Mia Meet Gev from "So You Think You Can Dance"

Attention! So You Think You Can Dance fans! On August 16th our dance studio got Gev to come in and do a private workshop. We watched the show all summer long and fell in love with Gev and his Hip Hop/Street dance style. He is just as cute in person as he is on t.v. This is a photo taken after the workshop.

When we arrived, we saw him get out of his car. The girls (with their friends Sydney and Shelby King) wanted a photo of them touching Gev's car .

Adult Lake Powell Trip with The Harker Brothers and Wives
The photo (above) was our awesome camp site. In the background you can see the huge sand hill that we climbed all week long. It was an awesome trip!

We had craft time during the long hot days. Here we are making our leather swim suits. Joe is pictured in the bottom left corner (it was his idea for the craft time), Stacy and Erely are busy cutting and piecing together their suits.

Ernie and 7 of his brothers went down earlier on in the week... bros only. The wives came down 4 days later. Pictured is Shon, Darin, Emil, Ernie, Maurice (squatting), Matt, Joe, and Gary. Brother #6 Lance was unable to come because of work. A special thanks to Ernie's dad Ferrin for purchasing the boat last summer. It has been tons o' fun to play on.

San Diego Trip '08

Here are the photos from our San Diego trip.

This is Uncle Ahmad (the best host ever!) Every night we were fed tasty food from his native country Iran as well as Indian dishes. His dogs are Goldie and Cocoa. My girls cried the day we left because they loved them so much. I cried because I would have to do my own cooking when I got home.

One beach we went to was for dogs only. It was amazing to see so many dogs unleashed and having the time of their lives. For all of you with dogs.... this would be heaven for them!



































Ahmad was sweet enough to take us on a tour of San Diego one day. We are looking out from Cabrillo Point, a State Park.























The sweet girl pictured is Robin (Ahmad's granddaughter). She stayed over with her brother Ryan one night. They had a blast in Uncle Ahmad's hot tub and stayed up giggling all night.

It's a new school year!

Well, it's official... the Harker girls are in school for the 2008-2009 school year. Guess what that means? Yep, I am alone all day long. It's kind of weird, really, that I am not running around the house screaming "I've got the day to MYSELF! It's all about ME! Where do I shop first?" etc.. Instead, I find myself a little sad. The girls make me laugh, they make me mad, they make me furious (is that the same as mad?) and they make me smile. I love them more than life.
The week before school started, Ernie invited us to ComicCon (some may have heard me refer to it as Ernie's Nerd Convention) in San Diego. We had the honor of staying with Ernie's Uncle Ahmad in La Jolla. We were treated like royalty. Ahmad had his brother Abass staying there too, and the both of them went out of their way to cater to us. They made both Indian and Iranian cuisine every night. We forgot our camera (I KNOW... a blogger NEVER forgets her camera! I'm still learning) so Ahmad will be forwarding the photos he took for us. We spent the first two days on the beach. Mia was the only brave one to get into the freezing Pacific ocean. The girls played in the seaweed piles, collected shells, and made sand castles. Bella was very annoyed at all the sand that would collect inside her swimsuit and on her towel. She shook her towel about every 10 minutes. We spent Saturday with Ahmad and went to a dog beach with his dogs Goldie and Cocoa. I counted 21 dogs within 10-15 feet from where I was sitting. It was literally a dog's heaven. The girls fell in love with Ahmad and of course the dogs and cried when we left. (Photos are on their way)

This is a photo of our houseboat the Sundancer. My parents (Greg and Ann Sumner) and my oldest brother (Matt) bought into this houseboat about 7 years ago. Last summer, Ernie and I got the opprotunity to buy our own share. If you're looking to get a hold of us during the summer, chances are we'll be in Lake Powell, baby!

So after being teased for not having my own blog, I've decided to throw caution to the wind and here I am! Now whenever you see me taking photos you'll know right away... yep it's for my blog. I'm embarrassed that in my title I even spelled "blog" wrong. Good thing I can edit. It's so new and fun for me. Enjoy!
